The only hXc show still remaining from the O.G. line up back from when the station started. The show that's the soundtrack to getting punched in the nuts while getting your head flushed down a toilet. Tune in every week to hear the best in punk, hardcore and thrash spanning from 77 to the present.
It's a Hip Hop history lesson. Your hosts DJ Hunnicutt, DarkO, France Panse and Mr. Ness (aka Satchel Paige) dig up the original breaks that have been sampled by your favorite Hip Hop songs and play them for you. Whether it's soul, jazz, rock, easy listening, pop or comedy records, if it's been sampled by a Hip Hop producer, it'll find it's way onto Born in the Break.
Every episode we also have a Breakdown, a weekly feature on a specific artist. Past Breakdowns have included Booker T. & the MGs, The Beatminerz, Bill Cosby, Prince Paul and Roy Ayers.
Oh, and we argue lots too, but that's only because Mr. Ness is always wrong.
Check out our website for weekly playlists!

Weekly Industry updates from our Music Insider aka Mr Glove Droppa live from the Nations Capital….Battle of the Beats and of course the New Joint of the Week where listeners call in to recommend to either “Rush or Flush It” to the New Joint of the week…Don’t worry we also mix some of today’s music with the old because what is old is always new again….

The Connoisseur's Guide to Jigger's Musical Galaxy
Sunday, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
E-mail:
Genre: World/Latin
If you're under the impression that Stevie Ray Vaughan was the only extraordinary blues performer in the 80s and 90s, the question is: where have you been? The answer: certainly not listening to The Connoisseur's Guide to Jigger's Musical Galaxy.
This is your chance to listen to the best the WORLD has to offer in blues and rock blues -especially to fans of electric guitar and Hammond organ. And I literally mean the world. If you tune in on any given Sunday you're as likely to hear blues maestros from Italy, Holland, the UK as you are from the U.S. Not only that, but you can tune in every week and NEVER hear the same song twice -that's a promise (with the odd accidental repeated song, but nobody's perfekt right?)
If the first hour's heavy blues haven't unhinged your synapse, then stick around for the second hour and hear the best the WORLD has to offer in psychedelia, hardrock and progrock from the 60s until now. If you're not familiar with "The Flower Travellin' Band's" 15 minute cover of "21st Century Schizoid Man", the "Pink Fairies" doing a 22- minute version of "Uncle Harry's Last Freakout"; or anything remotely interesting from "Aardvark" to "Zzebra" and anything cool in between -this is your chance to tap into the remaining unused 93% of your brain.
Life is too short for 3 minute pop songs, it's much better designed for mindbending 60 minute opuses that will literally make your brain melt. Another no repetition guarantee and I don't play Zeppelin 10 times a day! (In fact you'll be lucky to hear it once a year and it certainly won't be a known version of anything)
If there's something absolutely brilliant that you haven't heard in the last 30 or 40 years -odds are that I have it in my personal collection.
