UMFM can be heard throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas at
101.5 on the FM dial. If you are a subscriber of Shaw's cable service,
you can also listen to UMFM on 103.1 Cable FM (Shaw FM Channel Lineup) or if you are a subscriber to MTS tv, you can also listen to us on Channel 718. Conversely, CKUW
(UofW's Community
& Campus Radio Station) which is normally heard at 95.9 FM (Broadcast),
can be heard on 101.5 Cable FM, or channel 713 on MTS tv.
General Station Info
| UMFM transmits its signal atop the Richardson Building
(Latitude: 49° 53 Min. 45.60 Sec, Longitude: -97° 8 Min. 16.86 Sec.)
in the heart of Winnipeg's Downtown centre with a frequency of
101.5 FM (Channel 268A). Our signal has an Effective Radiated
Power (ERP) of 1.2 kW, with an Effective Height Above Average
Terrain (EHAAT) of 133m (436 feet) using an omnidirectional
antenna. The second coming of CJUM was officially
approved on October 2nd 1997 (due to expire August 31st, 2000), and we began our
first official broadcast on September 4th 1998 at 6pm. A six-month administrative renewal was granted and we have
since renewed
(February 22nd, 2001) our license for an additional
6½ years (until August 31st, 2007). |
