Two New Shows from School of Music to launch this fall

Thanks to everyone who responded to our call for a new School of Music show. We are launching not one, but TWO new programs this month. Fresh from the dynamic Department of Jazz and airing 9:00 am Mondays is DIG, hosted by students/musicians/writers Chris Berti and Keith Price. They promise to keep us informed on the goings-on in the world of jazz and play some "really sweet jazz" while they're at it. "DIG" takes its name from Winnipeg's monthly jazz mag, available (free) at our front counter.

And on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am, composition students Eliot Britton and Kevin McPhillips will educate us on musical concepts like "form" and "style" and introduce us to various instruments and composers. Kevin is majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Music History. Eliot is in 4th year Composition ( Electoacoustics and Orchestration). "What Is.." will also feature interviews with students and performances from Eva Claire Hall. Click on the program guide for more new shows! But before we close the book on the long-running 20th Century Canadian Composers series, we'd like to give love and thanks to Dr. Wedgewood and his class for creating these 25 original programs that have taught us much about our rich Canadian cultural legacy.
